Deployment steps
| Step | Description | For details, see |
|---|---|---|
1. Deploy the appliance |
Deploy the appliance from the ISO image - either as a virtual appliance on a supported hypervisor, or installed on supported hardware. |
|
2. Configure the network |
Run the network setup wizard, at the console or in a browser, to set the management IP address, hostname, timezone and the credentials used to log in to the WebUI. |
|
3. Log in to the WebUI |
Browse to the management address and log in with the credentials set by the wizard. |
|
4. License the appliance |
The appliance runs on a 30 day trial until a full license is applied. |
|
5. Apply any software updates |
Bring the appliance up to the current release before configuring services. |
|
6. Configure a service |
Define the Floating IP that clients connect to, the backend, and the Real Servers that serve the traffic. |
|
7. Apply the changes |
Update the underlying services so that the new configuration takes effect. |
|
8. Add further nodes (optional) |
Cluster two or more appliances so that services fail over between them. |
| Check that the ports the appliance uses are permitted by any firewall between the load balancer, the clients and the Real Servers - see Ports Used by the Appliance. |
